gtech pro SS questions

OK so im looking at getting the gtech pro SS for my 2004 chevy cavalier ls sport. Now a guy at my local speed shop said these were tuners that allowed u to adjust the programing of the stock ecu. but i cant find any info on this topic on your site.
Is the gtech jsut a performance moniter or doe sit tune your car?
Will my car support the Gtech with out any problums?

G-TECH/Pro SS and RR are Performance Meters (NOT tuning devices). They measure car's performance like 0-60mph (0-100kmh), 1/4mile E.T. (0-400m time and speed), Horsepower (Kw), Torque and much more.
You’ll be able to record your cars performance before and after modifications. It will help you go in the right direction during tuning.
Generally G-TECH/Pro SS and RR work on all cars and trucks, the only potential issue is RPMs. Nothing else besides RPMs depends directly on your vehicle.
