Daisy-Chaining

Postby liquid_02 on Thu Jan 01, 2009 9:53 pm

Been looking at your tach for awhile, quite interested in the ability to display wide-band data as I'm tuning my car from scratch, and saves having gauges all over my car. I need 2 of them.

So, what exactly is daisy-chaining? And how do I do it? Will the tach record both O2's, or will I have to flip a switch or something to make it read the other? Sorry, I just have absolutely no idea what daisy-chaining means :\

You can choose to display one or two parameters of your choice. You can record a total of 5 parameters including RPM which is always recorded. You can hook-up up to 8 wideband sensors by daisy-chaining. This simply means that the output of one sensor goes to the input of the next one and the output of the last sensor goes to the EGS. This way they are all on the bus.

So, for example, you could have a wideband for each cylinder bank and you can display them both in real time on the LCD display as you are driving. You can record additional channels like air pressure and water temp besides the two widebands and RPM. You can then replay them on the screen. Two parameters are displayed on the graph during replay and the other two are represented with numerical values. RPM is replayed with the needle. The best thing is that you can stop, fast forward and rewind the recording at any moment and you can change which parameters are on the graph. This is a great way to follow trends in behavior of your car. For example, what happens to the water temperature as your car starts running leaner and much more.

I hope this answers some of your questions. Please don't hesitate to ask more. Thanks for your support.
