Sensor output value variation

Postby parmas on Tue May 11, 2010 6:22 am

Dear G-tech,

I connected 2 analog 3wire sensors with the ADC module, 1 non-linear oil temperature and 1 linear oil pressure.

The problem is that when using the extension cable the sensors output value on gauge varies a lot that doesn't make sense, for example temp sensor varies from 16C to 100C while pressure varies from 88psi to 18psi when engine is on. Variation is for a second and then again jumping values.

The strange thing is that when connecting the ADC module + terminal module directly to gauge, this variation doesn't happen.

I wish to use the extension cable for a clean setup, so this is a must to have. Btw all modules are secured tight so it cannot be a loose connection.

Thanks

Alex

You can try another cable. Any serial 9 connector cable should work. It should be available in your local Radio Shack. Thanks.
